BMW Driver Critically Injures Three Pedestrians in Queens Crash

August 20, 2022 | Queens, New, York: Early Saturday just after 4:00am, a small BMW rammed into a group of three men crossing the street near the intersection of Northern Blvd & 86th St. in the Jackson Heights neighborhood.

The car was immobilized after crashing into a utility pole, leaving the three seriously injured men scattered on a Queens sidewalk. According to police, the three men were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where they are all listed in critical condition.

The three individuals located by officers at the scene are a 28-year-old male and 25-year-old male along with a 32-year-old male all with serious trauma wounds to the head and body. The three were all found unconscious and in critical condition.

According to police, the 23-year-old male BMW driver was headed westbound on Northern Blvd when he lost control of his vehicle before careening into a group of walking pedestrians was allegedly intoxicated, police said. The driver being under the influence may have played a part in the cause of the accident.

The BMW driver was taken into custody for DWI. Authorities said that charges against the driver are pending and the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
