Sept 24, 2022 | BROOKLYN, NY: Just after midnight police say a woman walking through the intersection of New York Avenue & Cortelyou Road was struck by a dark colored SUV that was traveling eastbound on Cortelyou Avenue when the collision occurred. The driver of the SUV did not stop to render aid on then victim and fled the scene, said police.
NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was also requested to the scene. The victim sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the hit and run collision.
According to officials, the seriously injured victim was transported to Kings County Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
NYPD Detectives in Brooklyn are searching for the SUV driver who allegedly struck the pedestrian as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
