Scooterist Critically Stuck by Car Near Feast of Santa Rosalia Street Festival in Brooklyn

August 20, 2022 | Brooklyn, New York: A 21-year-old scooterist was critically struck by a car at 74th St & 18th Ave near the site of the Feast of Santa Rosalia “18th Avenue Feast” in Brooklyn. Police responded and located a seriously wounded scooter rider in the roadway.

According to police, the road was open to vehicle traffic during the time of the collision and the driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The scooter rider was rushed to an area hospital and listed in critical condition, police said.

NYPD collisions investigation squad responded to the scene where a scooter rider was struck and seriously injured. It’s too early to determine criminality and no arrests were made. The incident is still under investigation.

The 11 day street festival runs from Thursday August 18th through August 28th 2022 between 68th street and 75th street. The festival is in honor of the patron saint of Palermo, St. Rosalia.
