Two Cops Stripped of Guns and Shields While PD investigate if Fatal ATV Crash was During Police Chase

August 20 2022 Queens, New York – Two New York police officers have been placed on modified duty after an ATV crash into Semi-truck left two people dead in Queens on Friday night.

Two NYPD officers, Niketa Janios and Marya Cardona Quintero, have been stripped of their guns and shields, while police is investigating if the crash that killed two men happened during a police chase, officials say.

On august 19 2022 in Queens, New York – Police say one victim has died on the scene and another was in critical condition after a fatal car collision of a semi-truck and an ATV in Queens on Friday morning.

A large 18-wheeler truck collided with another vehicle, possibly ATV, resulting in multiple injuries, police said.

Crash was reported at approximately 1:30 a.m., on Jackson Avenue and Queens Plaza North in Hunters Point neighborhood in Queens.

Upon arrival police they found two victims who may have been riding a damaged ATV on scene that collided with the 18-wheeler.

One victim was found under the wheels of the truck and was declared dead, a second cictim was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
