Five People including Two Firefighters Injured in 2-Alarm Fire in Throgs Neck BRONX

April 24, 2023 BRONX, New York – One person is left in life-threatening condition after five people, including two firefighters were injured in a 2-Alarm heavy blaze on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 12:38pm, fire broke out inside a home on Balcom Avenue, between Lawton and Miles Avenues, located in the Throgs Neck neighborhood in the Bronx.

Fire quickly rose to a two alarm response due to heavy clutter, requesting multiple units including Robotics Department, to help extinguish the blaze at 274 Balcom Avenue.

Officials said that at least one person suffered serious injuries who was transported to an area hospital in a life threatening condition.

The extent of firefighters injuries are unknown at this time. E-Scooters were removed from the home, it is not known if they are connected to the fire.
