Woman Grabbed Off NYC Street, Tossed Into Van was NOT Kidnapped – POLICE

April 24 2023 BROOKLYN, New York – On April 22nd, police reported that a man grabbed a woman, and carried her into a Toyota minivan, kidnapping her at around 2:00 a.m. in Bath Beach. Today police announced that the man and a woman came forward and they knew each other, the incident was not a kidnapping.

Incident was reported at approximately 0145am that an unknown woman was grabbed and carried by an unknown man into a car, at the intersection of Avenue W and Stillwell Avenue.

Police originally reported that the alleged suspect held the victim at gunpoint in the intersection before snatching her up and placing the victim into a minivan before fleeing northbound on Stillwell Avenue, however now that information was proven incorrect and no weapon was involved.



The victim was described as a female in her twenties with a light complexion and long hair approximately 5’5” and approximately 120 pounds, she was last seen wearing a striped shirt, blue skirt and white sneakers, according to officials.

The man was described as a male in his thirties with a light complexion and facial hair approximately 5’10”and approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants and black sneakers, police said.

The vehicle was described as a late model Toyota minivan with unknown registration.
