19 Injured After Garbage Chute Fire at Brooklyn Apartment Building

November 27, 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – 19 People have been injured in a Garbage Chute Fire that broke out at a Brooklyn building early Sunday morning.

Major response from FDNY and rescue responders to 111 Bridge Street after a chute fire started and 19 people were reported injured Saturday evening in a Downtown Brooklyn apartment building.

FDNY says, just after 11:00pm, a fire broke out inside a compact shoot on the third floor, at the Farragut houses NYCHA Building. A total of 19 people were reported injured, including 12 of which that are listed in serious condition. A firefighter was also injured during the incident but only suffered minor injuries.

The chute fire that broke out left several residents injured with many of the victims reported to be children. All injured parties were taken to local area hospitals in unknown condition.
