38-Year-old Man Shot and Killed in Bronx NYCHA Building

August 25, 2022 | Bronx, New York: NYPD Detectives in the Bronx are searching for the unknown assailant who opened fire in a Bronx high-rise apartment building, striking and killing a 38-year-old man on Wednesday evening, police said.

Officers from the 44th precinct arrived at the Morrisania Air Rights NYCHA Development around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 24. and located the gravely wounded 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest and lying in a 19th floor hallway. The victim was rushed by EMS to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

Police initially responded to the Bronx apartment building at 3073 Park Avenue for a 911 call of shots fired. According to police, the victim was taking out trash when viciously gunned down at the public housing building.

Detectives are working to determine a motive for the shooting and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. At this time there are no arrests.
