“Do Something, It’s like City Under Seige Out Here” – Man Stabbed and Killed across from Luxury Midtown Manhattan Hotels

August 26 2022 Manhattan, New York – A 49-year-old man was stabbed and killed on a Midtown street just before 1a.m. on Friday morning.

Incident reported near West 44 Street and 8 Avenue, outside of the train station, just across the street from ROW NYC hotel and the Intercontinental.

“Citizens need to start carrying some type of weapon to protect themselves because this is you know 42nd here and it’s an everyday occurrence. It’s getting closer to home”

Says New York City resident who works in the area, Ray Ravello

Police found a 49-year-old man who was stabbed to his neck and groin, according to officials.

EMS rushed to the location, transporting the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

“It really sucks because it’s not the first time I’ve seen stuff like this happen out here. It’s happening too frequently. Hopefully the commission and the mayor can crack down and do something because it’s ‘city under siege’ out here, ya know.”

Police say a person of interest, a 28-year-old man, has been taken into custody and a knife was recovered from in the area as well. The investigation remains ongoing.
