NYPD Officer grazed by bullet in Brooklyn Shootout

June 23, 2022 | BROOKLYN, NY: At approximately 4:31, an NYPD officer was shot in the arm near Pitkin Ave & Legion Street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. The officer did not suffer life threatening injuries and was transported to Kings County Hospital.

According to NYPD Officials, Officers were responding to 911 calls of shots fired, upon arrival they observed two groups of individuals exchanging gunfire at the location. A police cruiser was struck by gunfire and an officer was hit in the left arm, police officials said.

A male suspect fled from the scene on foot. Police helicopter and K-9 units were requested for a suspect search.

At this time there are no arrests and the incident is ongoing.
