SUSPECT ARRESTED In Shooting Of Rapper ‘Lil TJay’ in Edgewater

June 22 Edgewater, New Jersey – New York rapper Lil Tjay was shot in Edgewater just after midnight Wednesday, TMZ Reports siting law enforcement sources.

Mohamed Konate, 27 years old, will face charges that include attempted murder, armed robbery and weapons charges, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

Prosecuter says that Konate shot Tione Jayden “Lil Tjay” Merritt, multiple times, leaving him in a critical, life-threatening condition, also wounding Antoine Boyd, who survived being shot in the back, shortly after midnight Wednesday, Musella said.

Boyd was charged with illegal gun possession. Both Boyd and Konate are in the Bergen County Jail, according to the prosecutors.

Multiple people were shot in Edgewater, New Jersey early Wednesday morning . Bergen County Sheriff’s and Edgewater PD responded to Shops at City Place on River Road for reports of shots fired and multiple people injured.



Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said two 22-year-olds were shot at the shopping center at around 12:05 a.m.

Just up the road, a security vehicle was located at a gas station near the multiple shooting and was taped off with crime scene units inspecting the vehicle, where another victim was found.



TMZ reported that Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Merritt, is currently in a hospital having an emergency surgery.
