The FAA said inbound flights to LaGuardia Airport have been grounded due to low visibility as smoke and haze blankets NYC, while departures at LaGuardia were grounded from 12:50 p.m.

Inbound flights to Newark Liberty International Airport are delayed by multiple hours at this time.

Health officials urged New York City residents to stay indoors due to high level of pollutants and very high level of unhealthy air quality, which posed a risk to the sick, elderly and young children.
