June 06, 2023 BRONX, New York – A baby was injured and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after a hit-and-run multi-vehicle collision on Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx Tuesday night, officials said.
According to police, one of the occupants in the overturned vehicle was a 1-month-old baby girl who suffered severe head trauma who was transported to Jacobi Hospital for further treatment. The baby was last reported listed in critical, but stable condition, said police.
Officials say a dark colored SUV occupied by two male suspects struck another vehicle causing it to flip over, injuring an infant.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. near Bruckner Boulevard and Castle Hill Avenue in the Unionport section of the Bronx.
Police then say the two male suspects fled the scene on foot and there have been no reported arrests. The investigation is still ongoing.
