Bronx Covered in Smoke as 4 Alarm Fire Rages This Morning

May 10, 2022 | BRONX, NY: One dead, eight others injured, just blocks away from where 14 people died in a massive 5-Alarm Bronx Fire. A heavy fire in the Bronx ripped through a private home and neighboring homes engulfing the structures Tuesday morning. Firefighters requested additional units to help extinguished the massive fire that broke out at a private residence.

According to FDNY, initially it was reported early on that at least one person was located with serious injuries and six others with minor injuries were treated at the scene, authorities said. Firefighters battling the intense blaze at 2194 Valentine Avenue in the Bronx transmitted a 4th-Alarm when the fire spread to attached structures.

EMS treated 8 people at the scene with minor injuries. A ninth victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead, said authorities. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
