NJ Police Chase Ends in Deadly Crash, Days After Pursuit Made Legal

May 10, 2022 | GLEN RIDGE, NJ: Police chase ends in deadly crash, just days after New Jersey made police pursuits legal again. At least two killed and others injured in Glen Ridge, New Jersey after a vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a tree line before coming to a stop in a park. For reasons still under investigation it’s unclear if the vehicle lost control due to police pit maneuver or due to operator error.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene of the accident early Tuesday morning where a single car reportedly drove off an embankment near the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue & Bloomfield Avenue.

The location of this current accident is the same site where two people also died in a crash as a result of a police chase back in November of 2018. The Essex County Prosecutors Office is investigating the fatal car crash.
