February 17, 2022 – Manhasset, Long Island: A five-alarm fire occurred early Thursday morning at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island. A new section of the hospital was currently under construction, Chief Michael Rice made a statement in regards to the fire on hospital property.
Upon arrival at 300 Community Drive, fire crews observed intense flames on the first floor of the hospital construction site. According to fire officials the construction site was unoccupied and there were no civilian injuries reported.
Fire Chief Michael Rice advised the new section of Hospital is planned for a new surgical building.
