Man Fleeing From Traffic Stop Dies After Allegedly Jumping From Five-Story Building in Midtown

February 06, 2022 – Manhattan, NY: A man was found dead in an alley behind a midtown building at 347 48th Street after allegedly jumping from the roof just before 2:00a.m. Early Sunday morning, police said.

Police attempted to pull the man over for illegally tinted windows but instead he allegedly took off and hit another vehicle in the process of fleeing.

Officers terminated the chase after losing the suspect. A short time later, police responded to calls of an intruder on the roof of a nearby five-story building where according to officials the suspect fleeing from the traffic stop allegedly jumped to his death.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
