BLM Protesters March to Times Square in Solidarity With Amir Locke

February 06, 2022 – Manhattan, NY: Dozens of BLM Protesters took to the streets of Manhattan marching from Union Square to Times Square Sunday Afternoon. Those marching are demanding an end to “no-knock”warrants and showing solidarity with demonstrators in Minneapolis following the police killing of 22-year-old Amir Locke.

“The police had authorization, which should not have been granted, problem number one. They barged into the home, 12 seconds later put three bullets into his body.

We are tired of being villainized. We are tired of black people being criminalized for trying to live. And when we stand up against our oppressor, we are called terrorist. We are called violent. We are called angry animals.”, said one of the protesters leading the march.

Many activists and community members are calling for the resignation and or prosecution of every law enforcement officer involved in death of Amir, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and Interim Police Chief Amelia Huffman who signed off on a warrant that led officers to Lockes home.
