The standoff that began at around 8:30am and lasted roughly around eight hours, came to a close Wednesday afternoon to a packed city sidewalk of onlookers. Agents attempted to serve a warrant to the 35-year-old suspect and found entry blocked with furniture. The suspect barricaded himself and threatened to jump as onlookers watched from below on West 56th street, just blocks from Trump Tower.

The suspect broke windows and was seen hanging halfway out a window over looking the roadway where police set up a inflated fall pad, however from that height the fall could have been deadly even with a fall cushion.

The suspect was taken into FBI custody and loaded onto a waiting ambulance.

Outside we met with neighborhood resident Taylor who went on to say

Neighborhood resident and witness, Taylor

“This morning I was walking my dog and I had seen this gentleman hanging his legs out the window, I assumed it was an emergency and someone was trying to hurt themselves.”

Taylor when on to tell us about what it made her feel like walking upon that scene earlier today “I was sick to my stomach? I, I immediately thought, I just think that it gets to that point for some people, that they don’t see another alternative. I assume that he was trying to hurt himself, not escape the law.”

We also spoke with Bryam, a construction worker in the Thompson building across from the high rise where the suspect was threatening to evade FBI arrest by jumping. Bryam mentioned “We we’re working there in the Thompson Building and everybody was talking about a guy, that he wanted to jump, the building in front then we started watching him through the window.”

Bryam provided FNTV with footage from his vantage point in the Thompson Building where an inflatable was seen below in the roadway.
