On a Sunday afternoon, asylum seekers staying at Midtown hotel on West 57th were told they will be transferred to a camp type shelter location at a Brooklyn terminal in Red Hook. As they heard of conditions under which they would be living, from those already at the terminal, they refused to get on the transfer bus.

Hotel Watson in Midtown will now only take in families, single men are no longer allowed and have been asked to transfer to a mass shelter in Brooklyn.
