Migrant Center is MOVING from Orchard Beach to Randalls Island “Following Weekend Storm”

October 3 2022 BRONX, New York – New York City Mayor has announced that the Orchard Beach migrant relief center that is being built in the Bronx, will now be moved to to Randall’s Island, citing flood concerns following this weekend weather.

“Following this weekend’s storms, New York City Emergency Management determined that, while we would be able to put in place the necessary ponding mitigation measures, relocating the Orchard Beach humanitarian relief center to Randall’s Island is the most efficient and effective path forward, and work is underway to make this move,” said NYC Mayor Eric Adams.
