Migrants and Children Pick Out Donated Winter Clothes outside of Manhattan Hotel

November 28, 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – Migrant families with children were given out winter clothes ahead of cold month outside of NYMA Hotel in Manhattan.

According to a volunteer with South Bronx Mutual Aid, asylum seekers from Venezuela, Central and South America continue to arrive in New York on a daily basis and South Bronx Mutual Aid has been delivering food, clothing, along with other donated necessities to several midtown hotels that house migrant families.

After setting up bins of clothing outside the hotel entrance, the volunteer was told by hotel’s security to move.

The migrants, many in summer clothing, reported mistreatment by the hotel staff. The locks on doors have been removed, and their personal belongings was allegedly taken away, they said.
