15-year-old Old Boy Shot and Killed Two Blocks from His School in Brooklyn

September 7 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – A 15-year-old teenager shot and left fighting for his life in a Brooklyn Hospital has been pronounced dead. The teen was in critical condition after getting shot in the abdomen near a school in Brooklyn, police said.

The shooting happened on Wednesday afternoon around 1:45pm, in broad daylight at McLaughlin Park near Tillary Street and Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn, officials said.

The victim attended Brooklyn Lab Charter School located just two blocks away. Officials say that he was dismissed from school at 1:30pm., and made his way to this park, McLaughlin Park.

Witnesses state he was sitting on the bench with two females, when two males approached, words were exchanged and a fist fight ensued. The male is described as wearing all black and a black mask, removed a firearm firing one time striking the 15-year-old victim.

The shooter, along with another male, described as wearing a grey hoodie and a mask fled eastbound on Tillery towards Adams Street, both males are described to be of school age,police said.

The teenager was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.
