NYPD Officer Shot and Killed by a “Career Criminal” During Car Stop in Queens

March 25 2024 QUEENS New York – Police officer in a bulletproof vest, was shot in his stomach during a traffic stop in Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens.

The 34-year-old suspect, who Police describe as “career criminal” with 21 prior arrests, shot at the officer that pulled him over through the car window, striking striking him in his stomach.

Officials said that officers pulled the car over around 5:50 p.m. near 19-19 Mott Avenue., then suspect shot at uniformed NYPD cop, bullet hitting him under the vest.

Officers onscene shot back at the suspect sitting in the passenger seat, striking him in his back, officials said.

31-year-old officer was rushed to Jamaica hospital.
