March 24, 2024 New York City – At least three people were killed in separate shooting incidents across New York City on Sunday. In each incident the victims include three teens and an adult male.
In Harlem multiple people were shot, including Ashley Ballard, 18, who died at Harlem Hospital after being struck by gunfire in the head and back. Police also located Harry Mendoza, 25, who was found with a single gunshot wound to the head and left critically injured but did not survive his injuries, cops said.
Police responded to the shooting in East Harlem around 7:30pm at 2108 Lexington Ave between E 127th & E 128th in Manhattan.
Shortly after officers arrived on scene in East Harlem reports of a separate shooting in Brooklyn were transmitted on police radio.
Just before 8pm, Bryan Henriquez, 17, was shot multiple times and located by police with wounds to the back and neck near East 37th St. & Church Avenue in the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn.
The injured teen male who lived just a mile from the shooting was transported to Kings county hospital with serious injuries and pronounced deceased, police officials said.
Earlier in the day at around 2:33pm, police responded to the Marcus Garvey Houses for reports of a person shot and found a teen male with gunshot wounds to the face and neck at 10 Amboy St in Brooklyn.
The injured 18-year-old male was transported to Brookdale Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
No arrests reported at this time and the investigations into each case are ongoing.
