December 15 2023 BROOKLYN, New York – Short Mass Power Outage Trapps New Yorkers in Elevators as Coned Farragut Substation had smoke rising above it in Dumbo Brooklyn.
Black smoke was seen rising from the power facility in Brooklyn around 11.55pm on Thursday night, followed by brief power outage with lights flickering for a few seconds, as users across the internet shared.
Security guard at Wegmans in Brooklyn was stuck in the elevator for almost an hour, others stuck in elevators and subways, some reported flickering traffic lights.
“There was a disruption causing a citywide power surge,” the NYPD said
