One Dead, Dozens Injured in a Night Of Flames as Fires Rage Across NYC Area

March 8 2023 NEW YORK, New York – One person is dead and at least a dozen people are injured as heavy fires raged across NYC area overnight.

At least one person was killed and several others were seen rescued in a massive 4-Alarm fire at a Yonkers apartment.

Starting on the first floor, flames quickly spread and were seen shooting out from the top of the Mona Lisa Cooperative Residence on Bronx River Road around 1:30 a.m.

Officials say multiple residents and firefighters were injured in the fire.

Earlier, on March 7th at around 10pm, a heavy 5-Alarm blaze consumed a residential home in Woodside Queens starting at 37-18 59th Street.


Mayday call was transmitted and a firefighter was pulled out from the fire and evaluated by the EMS. At least 8 firefighters were injured as high winds were affecting fire.



Fire raged through a 2.5 story private home and quickly extended to 3 nearby homes, fully engulfing the homes.

House in Brooklyn cought fire and was brought under control following an All-Hands call. Firefighters responded to an all hands fire at around 5:40am. The fire broke out at 27 Conway street. No injuries reported at this time.

Around 6a.m. Wednesday morning, a fire ripped through an industrial building “Parts Authority” autoshop in Forest Hills, Queens on Wednesday morning causing explosions and a wall collapse at 89-40 Metropolitan Ave

No injuries reported, but firefighters are still battling the blaze despite heavy winds.
