August 2nd 2021 – DC police department has announced that officer Gunther Hashida has died by suicide in his home on July 29th.
He was one of the officers assigned to an emergency response team at the Capitol on January 6th.
DC MPD also confirmed that Officer Kyle DeFreytag died by suicide, just hours after the department confirmed the death of officer Gunther Hashida
Kyle DeFreytag was at the Capitol to enforce curfew violations, according to Metropolitan Police.
