“I Have no Hate, Only Love” – Family Buries Their Loved One in Bucha

April 19 2022 BUCHA, UKRAINE: Anya, 56, was shot in the head and left for dead on the street on March 20th, is now buried near her husband. Vova, her mother in law, and daughter Natasha along with Tatyana, friends and other relatives all gathered at a cemetery in Bucha, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Anya was last seen alive on March 20. Her family was able to begin looking for her on April 1, and found her around April 12th among the the bodies of victims killed. We spoke with Natalya, who is Anya’s mother in law and she said to us,

“Such a pity, we didn’t believe until last moment that this tragedy has happened, that our Anyechka would be gone and that we won’t get to see her again. We are mourning her. What a tragedy.”

Natalya went on to say “Now I have her granddaughter Sophia. Sofia was her life. and her daughter Tanyechka. They were everything to her, horrible tragedy says Anya’s mother in law.

“We will always remember her. I don’t have hatred only love.” -Tanya

Anya’s long time friend mentioned to us when they started searching for Anya. “She disappeared on March 28th, and didn’t get in contact with us since then. We started looking for her on April 1, and found her in a group of those who died.”

We also had the chance to speak with Anya’s grieving daughter, Tanya. “She was a good person. A good person, she was happy, full of life. She wanted to live but she always helped everyone she could. We will always remember, we will always remember her. I don’t have hatred only love.”
