NYPD Officer Struck by “Wrong Way Driver” who witnesses say appeared to strike intentionally, During Robbery Investigation on Upper East Side

January 17, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – An NYPD officer was injured after being struck by a wrong way driver just before 4:30pm, Wednesday afternoon on Park Avenue in New York City. According to AMNY Sources, Manhattan cop was intentionally struck by wrong-way driver, who police say is a known female Pro-Palestine protester.

An eyewitness who works at a building near the scene stated that police officers had the intersection of E 71st St & Park Ave shutdown for an investigation after suspects allegedly involved in a retail robbery on Madison Avenue, abandoned their silver vehicle between E 71st and E 72nd Streets in Manhattan’s Upper East Side neighborhood.

NYPD officers reportedly encountered a vehicle unrelated to the robbery investigation driving the wrong way on Park Avenue from East 70th to East 71st street.

The eyewitness also stated the injured cop was gesturing for the black car to stop in an attempt to halt and pull over the female wrong way driver but was struck.

The injured 19th precinct officer was rushed to Cornell Medical Center for further treatment of serious but non life threatening injuries sustained during the incident.

The group of brazen robbery suspects officers were originally on scene investigating reportedly made off with around ten thousand dollars worth of merchandise from the Mackage clothing store on East 68th Street and Madison Avenue.

According to police radio transmissions one of the suspected people involved in the retail robbery heist was taken into custody and at least two others are still at large.

The wrong way female driver was taken into police custody.
