A man was shot dead early Sunday morning inside a Manhattan Building that hosted a pole dancing training studio, cops said
“They were running out of there. They were like naked, they were getting dressed and screaming and crying, saying he was dead, he was dead.”
According to police, the victim, 32, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the entryway staircase leading up to Foxy Fitness & Pole Training Studio and died at the scene.
NYPD’s tactical Emergency Service Unit rushed into the dance studio where people were seen pouring out of. Upon police arrival multi colored “club style” lights could still be seen in use through the studios windows and reflecting off metal dancing poles.
It’s unconfirmed at this time if the dance studio doubled as an after hours strip club, however online posts from the businesses own social media page promotes a “Foxy Uncut” evening with bottle service and encourages tips for dancers. The midtown dance studio is situated on the floors above a pizzeria that’s on the ground level of the building.
We talked with an eyewitness that did not want her face on camera who saw several people fleeing the building just after the shooting unfolded.
“They were running out of there. They were like naked, they were getting dressed and screaming and crying, saying he was dead, he was dead. Women, guys, there was just like a lot of people just running and they were saying they were jumping over his body and all that ”
A group of individuals who remained inside the dance studio were later escorted out of the building by NYPD detectives and loaded into police vehicles to be taken to a local precinct for questioning.
The fatal shooting occurred on 7th Ave near W 30th street at around 5:30 a.m. Sunday and the victims name has yet to be released to the public pending proper family notification.
The investigation into the deadly shooting is still ongoing.
