September 17, 2023 BRONX, New York – NYPD Detectives are investigating the shooting death of an 80-year-old man killed execution style early Sunday morning in the Bronx.
According to police, Marcelino Valerio, 80, was returning home from a family gathering with his wife when he was shot in the back of the head just before entering his home by a lone gunman riding a bike on a Bronx side walk.
Multiple officers patrolling the area quickly arrived after hearing shots ring out near the intersection of W 168th Street & Ogden Avenue at around 1 a.m., in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. EMS also responded and pronounced Valerio dead at the scene.








The gunman who was dressed in all black including a black ski mask fled on his bike after the shooting the 80-year-old at point blank range and remains at large.
Police have yet to release a motive for the killing as the investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing.
