MoMa SHUT DOWN by Climate Protesters, Museum Closes with Activists INSIDE for SIX HOURS, 15 Arrests

September 15 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – Climate activists SHUT DOWN a NYC Museum of Modern Art for over two hours now.

Protesters blocked entry to MOMA by laying down on the steps, forming a “die-in”, chanting with signs that read “Shut down Kravis”.

At 6:30pm the MoMa museum had been closed officially for an hour, activists have been occupying it and blocking entry for over THREE HOURS at that time.

While museum has officially closed, activists remained inside.

Activists are protesting museum’s ties to private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts ‘KKR’.

The firm has invested heavily in fossil fuel projects, donating millions of dollars to the museum which names a space within it. Henry Kravis is the co-founder of KKR, and his wife is MoMA Board Chair Marie-Josée Kravis.

7:20pm – “All we want is to set up a meeting with director of the MoMa” – Climate activist’s request falls on deaf ears as they continue to occupy close Museum of Modern Art for now 6 hours.

Dozens of security are still present, doors locked, some climate activists are sleeping inside.

9:15pm – 16 activist were arrested after occupying the museum of Modern Art, in demand that they stop working with Kravis to end fossil fuels.
