HAZARDOUS Matterials Burn at 5-Alarm BLAZE at Department of Transportation in Queens

September 4 2023 QUEENS, New York – Heavy Blaze spread through Department of Transportation building in Queens, burning through dangerous hazardous Matterials as smoke rose above.

A 5-Alarm fire started burning around 11pm, through the roof of DOT factory building at 32-11 Harper street in Willets Point Neighborhood.


Firefighters states hazardous dangerous materials are in the building such as high pressure tanks, diesel fuels, kerosene, gasoline and welding tanks.



NYC Department of Transportation Harper Street Yard Structures include two buildings, a diesel pump station and an electrical transformer building, in addition to factory and storage.

Approximately 40 units and 150 fire and EMS personnel are at the scene.
