Grandfather Unloading Groceries Killed, Wife “Pinned Between Cars”, Two Grandchildren Injured in a Crash in Queens

September 5 2023 GLEN OAKS, Queens – 67-year-old man was killed and several others were injured, including two children, after a car driver lost control, slamming into pedestrians in Queens this Tuesday afternoon.

Police, EMS and fire department rushed to the scene at 260th Street and 73rd Avenue around 4 p.m. in Glen Oaks neighborhood as crowds gathered looking on.

Police say that four pedestrians were struck by e while they were standing next to a parked car, loading children into it.

A 67-year-old man was pinned and killed during the crash, while a 65-year-old woman suffered a leg injury. A 5-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy sustained injuries and are stable.



The woman was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in serious but stable condition, the children were taken to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital.

The 39-year-old driver the car that crashed into pedestrians remained on the scene.



The investigation is ongoing.
