NYPD cop and his Father found dead at Bronx Home in possible murder-suicide

August 2 2023 BRONX, New York – An off-duty police officer and his dad were found dead at a Bronx apartment this afternoon in a possible murder-suicide, sources said.

Officers rushed to an apartment on Fteley Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood of Bronx shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

First responders found an NYPD officer and his father unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to their heads. Both men were pronounced dead.

According to NBC New York, the police officer found dead was an off-duty narcotics detective who has been working in the borough since 2018.


Investigation is ongoing.
