May 15, 2023 JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – Overnight one person was killed in a collision where a vehicle overturned and caught fire in Jersey City.
At around 2:30am, firefighters responded to 3080 John F Kennedy Blvd for the serious accident early Monday morning, authorities said.
Morning rush hour commuters were impacted by the shut down of city streets due to the deadly crash.
Officers first on scene observed debris from the crash scattered along the roadway on Kennedy Boulevard and located a sports vehicle fully engulfed in flames on the northbound side of the roadway. The 25-year-old man from Jersey City was pronounced dead at the scene, said police officials.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal collision near Kennedy Boulevard and St. Pauls Avenue in Jersey City.
