May 11, 2023 BROOKLYN, New York – The NYPD announced an arrest in the homicide death of 19-year-old Deandre Matthews who was found by police on train tracks with severe burn wounds throughout the body and gunshot to the head just days after being reported missing.
Isiah Baez, 19, from Brooklyn was arrested in connection to the killing of a male shot in the head, with burn wounds found on freight train tracks at 2236 Nostrand Ave in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Baez, was charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
According to police officials, two men from Brooklyn were involved in Matthews death, including 19-year-old Isiah Baez and 24-year-old Remy McPrecia , who are both now in police custody
The 19-year-old Baez was seen walked out of the 70th Precinct by detectives on Thursday afternoon.
