ARSON INVESTIGATION after Fire Killed Woman and Teen Girl, Leaving Five Others Injured

May 9 2023 BROOKLYN , New York – A woman and a 17-year-old have died and three other children injured after a fire burned through Brooklyn home.

Police is investigating a possibility of arson homicide of the fire inside a house on Fountain Avenue near Liberty Avenue in Cypress Hills neighborhood in Brooklyn, according to police.

Fire engulfed around 2:15 a.m, firefighters found a 36-year-old woman inside the home and pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.

A teenage girl was rushed to nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Two girls,10-year old and 14-year-old as well as a 9-year-old boy were taken to a hospital and remain in serious condition.

A male was also taken to a hospital where he is in a stable condition.

Police say they found an accelerant on the scene and are investigating this fire as homicide.
