Protesters DISRUPT Subway Service Following Choke-Hold Death of a Homeless Man on NYC Subway Train

May 3 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – Clashes with NYPD as protest was held for Jordan Neely, a black homeless man who was choked and killed by a subway straphanger in NYC.

A 30-year-old man, Jordan Neely, was acting erratically according to police and witnesses, while riding on the New York City subway. Neely was placed in a choke hold, from his back, by another passenger and died on a train in NoHo, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed.



Jordan Neely, was found on a northbound F train at the Broadway-Lafayette station when around 2:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

The 24-year-old subway rider who held Neely in a fatal choke hold, was questioned by detectives and released.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office has opened an investigation into the death of Jordan Neely.

This Wednesday, medical examiner’s office announced that 30-year-old Jordan Neely died from “compression of neck” and determined the manner of death to be homicide.
