11,000 Writers Go On Strike For First Time in 15 Years

May 2 2023, MANHATTAN, New York – Writers and their supporters gathered in New York City on day 1 of their writers strike, first one in 15 years.

Writers Guild of America union members with WGAEast are picketing outside Peacock NewFronts to demand better pay and a fair contract, located at 415 5th Avenue in Manhattan

Approx 11,000 unionized film and TV writers went on strike Tuesday and picketed in Los Angeles and NYC, after failing to reach a new contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
