Jean Carroll defamation and battery lawsuit against Trump begins in NYC

April 25 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – Jury selection begins this Tuesday morning, in the sexual assault and defamation civil suit brought by E. Jean Carroll against former President Trump.

Carroll has two active lawsuits against Trump.

Jean Carroll claims that Donald Trump raped her in the changing room of the Bergdorf Goodman store in Manhattan in the 90s.

In a defamation lawsuit from November 2019, Carroll claims that she was defamed after she published an article in New York magazine, speaking about the alleged rape, Trump responded by saying that Carroll was lying and said “she’s not my type.”
