April 11 2023 JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – 7-Alarm fire at recycling center in Jersey City leads to multiple brushfires, affecting NJ Transit Light Rail.

Fire broke out shortly after 3 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon at a recycling plant on Caven Point Avenue in Jersey City.

Due to the fire, NJ Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service was suspended in both directions between Liberty State Park and Danforth Station.

Due to emergency personnel operating at the seven alarm fire in Jersey City, New Jersey, residents in Manhattan may see or smell smoke.
