March 15, 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – Heavy fire erupted inside Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui’s 18th-floor apartment at Sherry Netherland Hotel this afternoon.
At approximately 12:14pm, Firefighters responded to 911 calls of a fire burning on the 18th floor of a high rise building in Upper East Side Manhattan.
Firefighters transmitted a second alarm to call for additional units to help search for the fire inside the 37 story Sherry-Netherland Hotel building at 781 5th Avenue, very near to Central Park.
Steve Bannon associate, Chinese billionaire Miles Guo who was raided this morning by the FBI, had two floors 17th and 18th at that hotel. During the authorized search, authorities found 96 cellphones, of which 50 were in faraday bags.
Miles Guo was arrested in New York for orchestrating what the Department of Justice called a more than $1 billion fraud conspiracy. Guo, also known as Miles Kwok, is an associate of former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon. He is currently awaiting arraignment today. It is not known what caused the fire.
