February 19th, 2023 – BRONX, NY: Detectives in the Bronx are searching for two female suspects allegedly involved in a deadly hit and run vehicular assault on a car wash worker who was run down and left for dead.
The 55-year-old car wash worker was struck by the suspect driven vehicle while in the process of drying off a Taxi, early Sunday morning, police said. The critically injured car wash employee was taken to Lincoln Hospital with life threatening injuries where he would subsequently be pronounced dead by hospital staff, cops said.
We spoke with a visibly shaken car wash employee who said that a co-worker by the name of “Benito” was drying off a taxi when the driver of a dark colored SUV struck the worker and other vehicles. The SUV would eventually stop a half-block down from the point of impact at the intersection of 167th Street and Webster Avenue.
According to police, a taxi driver who was inside of his vehicle as it was being dried off by the doomed worker was reportedly hurt and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with various non life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.




At around 5:20 a.m., officers from the 44th Precinct responded to 1181 Webster Avenue and located an unoccupied and heavily damaged Ford SUV with Georgia license plates. The driver and passenger, two suspects believed to be females, ran from mangled SUV.



Detectives are searching for two female suspects wanted for questioning in regards to the fatal crash, no arrests at this time and the investigation into the deadly incident is ongoing.
