February 12, 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – A man was pronounced dead Saturday evening after shots rang out inside a Harlem smoke shop, police officials said.
The shooting occurred just before 10:30 p.m., across the street from a Shake Shack fast food restaurant on 125th Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan. A blood splatter trail was discovered leading from the Level Up Exotics smoke shop to the Shake Shack across the street.
According to police officials, officers located an seriously wounded 42-year-old man who was shot multiple times with wounds to the torso and neck. The victim was rushed by EMS to Harlem Hospital where authorities say he was pronounced dead.
Detectives in Harlem are searching for two males of interest who police say fled the scene in a vehicle following the deadly shooting.
No arrests at this time and the investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing.
Around the same time the shooting investigation was unfolding on W 125th, just blocks away a woman was shot near a BP gas station at E 125th Street and 2nd Avenue, said police.
According to police, the injured woman was shot somewhere in the immediate vicinity of the gas station and walked over to the business asking for assistance from a gas station attendant.
The aided female was transported to an area hospital.
Swat teams were searching a nearby building for a possible suspect, however no arrests were made.
Just an hour prior to the shootings in Harlem, a 29-year-old man had his neck slashed in Brooklyn, cops said.
According to police, the assault occurred at 3202 Church Street in the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn at around 9:30 p.m.
The victim was transported by EMS to King’s County Hospital in critical condition, cops said
Police are searching for a male suspect dressed all black who fled the scene on foot, no arrests at this time.
