February 9 2023 BROOKLYN, New York – Thousands gathered today in Crown Heights Brooklyn for a funeral of Henya Federman, 40-year-old mother of 13, a Hasidic Jewish leader from the US Virgin Islands.

Two months ago, in a tragic water accident, Henya and her 4-month-old daughter, Shterna, died.

At the time, Federman was pulled out of the water and resuscitated after attempting to save her baby and flown to the mainland of the United States for emergency care, where she fought for her life, but passed away Wednesday morning.

The funeral passed by Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, before proceeding to Old Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights, Queens, N.Y. for the internment.
