Off-duty Cop Shot and Left in Life Threatening Condition During a Brooklyn Robbery

February 4 2023 BROOKLYN, New York – An off-duty NYPD officer was shot and left in life threatening condition during a robbery in Brooklyn Saturday evening, police said.

Officials say that the officer was trying to buy a car, when he was robbed and shot on Ruby Street and Dumont Avenue, in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Officer was shot in the head at approximately 7:13pm, leaving the victim in life threatening condition.

The victim was rushed by EMS to an area Brookdale hospital in critical condition.



Suspects fled southbound on Ruby St towards Linden Blvd in a dark colored vehicle. No arrests at this time.
