Rescuers were seen trying to capture a Eurasian eagle owl named Flaco that went missing last night from the Central Park Zoo after being freed by vandals around 8pm, Thursday evening.
The owl was first spotted on 5th Avenue and E 60th Street at around 9 p.m. Thursday night. The police and emergency responders attempted capture, but the owl flew away.

Late Thursday evening, Flaco was also spotted near Pulitzer Fountain at Grand Army Plaza, near Central Park at 11:30 p.m.
Friday morning, Flaco left the tree on 5th Avenue and flew into Central Park where zoo staff that was tracking the owl say they have a visual on the animal.
Later Zoo staff located the owl perched high up in a tree and stayed monitoring Flaco throughout the night.
