MULTIPLE ARRESTS in Times Square as Cop Car is SMASHED at Tyre Nichols Protest

January 27 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – groups have gathered across New York City this evening as tape was released showing a brutal beating of Tyre Nichols by five policeman that resulted in his death.

Hawk Newsom, Black Opts and Uptown Revolutionaries gathered in Union Square to demand changes.

“What do we want – Justice – if we don’t get it – Burn it down!” group chanted led by Chivona Newsome.

“Fuck peace, fuck peace! Where they being peaceful when they were stomping on brother Nichols head?” Hawk Newsom of Greater NY BLM and Black Opts spoke to the crowd.

NYC Mayor Adams called for protests to remain peaceful – “Respect the wishes of #TyreNichols mother. If you need to express your anger and outrage – do so peacefully” – NYC Mayor addresses New Yorkers ahead of protests for Tyre Nichols,
“My message to the NYPD has been and will be – exercise restraint”

Multiple protests have been called across NYC and other cities in the US.

“These officers were found to be directly responsible for the physical abuse of Mr Nicols” Memphis police chief released statement on Tyre Nichols death – “This is a failing of basic humanity toward another individual. This incident was heinous, reckless, and inhumane;”

“While we understand, appreciate, and share the high emotional charge of this tragedy, our Department will never tolerate violence, willful destruction, or any other criminality” Statement from NYPD Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell
